Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures slip on weak trend

New Delhi: Aluminium prices dropped by Rs 3 to Rs 335.85 per kg in the futures trade on Tuesday as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April fell 0.89 per cent in 94 lots. Analysts said the cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
Zinc futures rise on spot demand
Zinc prices rose marginally by Re 1 to Rs 328.60 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. Zinc contracts for April delivery edged up 0.31 per cent in 771 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher bets by participants.
Copper futures gain on high bets
Copper futures rose by Rs 7.45 to Rs 1,222.30 per kg on Tuesday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for April delivery grew by 0.61 per cent in 281 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
